Japanese Boxwood Bonsai Tree is approximately 8 years old and planted in a 5" ceramic container with attached tray.
Japanese Boxwood (Buxus microphylla)
Japanese Boxwood is a small evergreen ideal for bonsai. Boxwoods have small, opposite, evergreen leaves and produce small star-shaped flowers in early Spring. The flowers are not showy, but are quite fragrant. Japanese Boxwood tolerate both sun and shade and can be grown both outdoors and indoors. Boxwood is a hardy tree but to prevent damage, it needs protection from wind and frost. The foliage tends to turn yellow-green or brownish in fall and winter.
